Lettau Art Fashion had the honor of featuring Diana May - DJane and resident of Kit Kat’s ‘Electric Mondays’ – in our new video that will be released in March. She started out at the Grazer night club Kottulinky as a lighting technician to finance her studies. Later on she became a DJ and played alongside Dr. Motte, George Morel, Fur Coat, Kirsten Velvet and many more. She’s played her bassy acid techno at the legendary Vienna Pratersauna, Hör Berlin, Ritter Butzke to name some of them. Her first release “90´s Machine” with remixes by Michael Nielebock and Lauschtakt & Ulrich will be the soundtrack of our fashion film which was directed and filmed by Julian Schwandner and Adèle Perrin.
Hi Diana, that was a super cool video shoot. How was it working with Adèle, Julien and the rest of the team?
Hi Liz, it was really great to be pulled out of daily Corona life and work with incredibly talented and kind people. I’m really impressed by both of them, I’ve rarely felt so well cared for.
You grew up in a little city in Russia – now you’re a resident DJ at Electric Monday in Kit Kat Club Berlin. How did you get into music?
I’ve always been enthusiastic about music, as a child I played the violin and learned Russian folk dancing as well as singing. Later on I sang in the church choir on Sundays until I started DJing in Austria alongside my studies.
When you’re not having a go on the turntables yourself, you also coach other artists. Can you tell me a bit about your work as a coach?
I love to show artists their strengths, to motivate them and help them forge their individual path. That’s why, a few years ago, I fulfilled one of my long-time dreams: systematic NLP training. For me it’s essential to be an approachable coach, whilst also giving the necessary push.
Back to our collaboration: what is your favorite Lettau l|. Art Fashion outfit and how do you enjoy styling it?
Not an easy question, as I’m really into every single piece of yours! Currently my favorite piece to wear is the Tortuga velvet top with the A skirt velvet or with high waist jeans and my doc martens.
And to conclude, another personal question: following a crazy 2020 that really took it out of us all, what are your wishes and goals for 2021?
I really hope to be able to DJ in clubs again, I miss it incredibly. Overall, I wish for more solidarity and acceptance amongst people.

Hi Diana, das war ja mal ein mega geiler Video Shoot. Wie fandest du die Arbeit mit Adèle, Julien und dem Rest des Teams?
Hallo Liz, es war wirklich toll, in Corona Zeiten aus dem Alltag entrissen zu werden und mit unglaublich talentierten und zuvorkommenden Menschen zusammenzuarbeiten. Ich bin völlig begeistert von den Beiden, ich habe mich selten so gut umsorgt gefühlt.
Aufgewachsen bist du in einer kleinen Stadt in Russland – jetzt bist du Resident DJ beim Electric Monday im Kit Kat Club Berlin. Wie bist du zur Musik gekommen?
Musik hat mich schon immer begeistert, als Kind habe ich Violine gelernt und russischen Volkstanz, sowie Gesang. Später habe ich sonntags im Kirchenchor gesungen, bis ich neben dem Studium in Österreich als DJ durchgestartet bin.
Wenn du dich nicht selbst an den Turntables auslebst, coachst du auch andere Artists. Kannst du ein bisschen was über deine Arbeit als Coach erzählen?
Ich liebe es, Künstlern ihre Stärken aufzuzeigen, zu motivieren und mit jedem seinen eigenen individuellen Weg auszuarbeiten. Deshalb habe ich mir vor ein paar Jahren einen lange gehegten Traum erfüllt: eine systemische NLP Ausbildung. Für mich ist es essentiell wichtig, ein zugänglicher Ansprechpartner zu sein, dabei aber auch den nötigen Push zu geben.
Zurück zu unserer Zusammenarbeit. Welches ist dein Lieblings Lettau l|. Art Fashion Outfit und wie stylst du es am liebsten?
Keine leichte Frage, da ich gefühlt jedes Stück von dir total feiere! Aktuell trage ich am liebsten das Tortuga Top Velvet passend zum A Skirt Velvet oder mit hochbündigen Jeans und meinen Doc Martens.
Zum Schluss noch eine persönliche Frage: Nach einem verrückten 2020, dass uns alle ganz schön mitgenommen hat, was sind deine Wünsche und Ziele für 2021?
Ich wünsche mir wieder im Club auflegen zu können, denn das fehlt mir unglaublich.
Allgemein wünsche ich mir mehr Solidarität und Akzeptanz untereinander.
