In 2012, Liesa Maria Lettau, a trained custom tailor from Berlin, founded the independent slow fashion brand Lettau Art Fashion.
Her creations are deeply inspired by electronic music, the vibrant Berlin club scene, summers spent living and working in Ibiza, and her travels to festivals across the globe. These experiences have shaped the psychedelic, bold, and playful aesthetic that defines her work.
In the early days, Liesa traveled with her unique pieces, seeking out retailers in Barcelona, Costa Rica, and Ibiza. She would wear her handmade outfits to nightclubs and share her contact card whenever someone complimented her style. In Berlin, she visited every alternative fashion and clubwear store, tirelessly searching for customers interested in her designs. Soon, she discovered a handful of local retailers that believed in her work, and word began to spread throughout the town. Her journey was a blend of joyful progress and challenging setbacks, but today, it's rare to find a dancefloor in Berlin without at least one representation of Lettau Art Fashion designs.
Today, Liesa collaborates with concept stores in Berlin, Ibiza, Amsterdam, and Tel Aviv, offering limited-edition collections produced on demand.
Since 2018, her designs have also been available through an online shop, where customers can choose their favorite designs and select from 12 in-stock fabrics. Every piece is made-to-order and crafted in-house at her Berlin-Neukölln studio. She sources holographic, glittery, neon, and exotic-patterned fabrics, transforming them into sleek, durable, sexy, and relaxed garments.
Her signature designs feature dazzling bodysuits and sleek catsuits, crafted from shimmering, high-quality fabrics that catch the light with every movement. Many of these statement pieces are adorned with vibrant, flowing fringes that create a dynamic, eye-catching effect on the dancefloor. In addition to these bold, festival-ready outfits, Liesa also specializes in intricate patchwork creations, meticulously assembled from fabric scraps. Each patchwork piece is a one-of-a-kind garment, thoughtfully designed to blend colors, textures, and patterns in a way that transforms leftover materials into wearable art. Committed to sustainability, her production process follows a zero-waste principle—smallest fabric remnants are repurposed to fill water-repellent meditation pillows and yoga bolsters.
