Kurz zu dir: Woher kommst du? Wie alt bist du? Was machst du, wenn du nicht als Model unterwegs bist?
Ich bin 21 Jahre alt und komme ursprünglich aus Flensburg, aus dem hohen Norden quasi. Ich bin vor ca. zweieinhalb Jahren für meine Ausbildung zur Hotelfachfrau nach Berlin gezogen, die ich nun so gut wie abgeschlossen habe.Also momentan arbeite ich vollzeit im Veranstaltungsbereich eines Hotels, mal sehen, wohin es mich als nächstes verschlägt. In meiner Freizeit bin ich eher die “Kreative” und male viel und gern.
Wie bist du zum Modeln gekommen? Was gefällt dir an der Tätigkeit?
Modeln war für mich schon immer interessant, aber nie der typische “Kleinmädchen-Karrieretraum”. Ich habe sozusagen auch gerade erst vor etwa einem Jahr damit angefangen, und es bisher immer nur als eine gute Mischung aus Hobby und Nebentätigkeit gesehen, da ich ja auch noch einen Vollzeitjob habe. Aber für mich ist das faszinierendste an der Tätigkeit das Zusammenwirken der verschiedenen kreativen Vorstellungen von z.B. Fotograf/in, Model, Makeup Artist und Stylist, die ihre Visionen verschmelzen lassen und etwas neues erschaffen. Selbstverwirklichung ist auch ein ganz wichtiger Aspekt davon.
Du stehst auf Mädchen, richtig? Was findest du an Frauen anziehend? Was bedeutet Weiblichkeit für dich?
Ja, ich definiere mich selbst meist als bi oder noch lieber queer; ich denke Sexualität ist fließend, aber aktuell habe ich definitiv eine Präferenz für Frauen. Die bessere Frage, was ist an Frauen nicht anziehend? (lacht) Ich stehe nicht nur auf Frauen, ich bin auch bekennende Feministin und das weibliche Geschlecht begeistert mich einfach in jeder Hinsicht. Was ich sicher auch erst mit der Zeit und mit den richtigen Menschen gelernt habe, ist dass Weiblichkeit in unendlich vielen verschiedenen Formen daherkommt und nichts mit klassischen Geschlechternormen zu tun hat. Gerade innerhalb der LGBTQ+ Community lernt man so viele Frauen/Leute kennen, die sich von den Erwartungen der Gesellschaft losgesagt haben und einfach ihre eigene Schönheit leben. Selbstbewusstsein und -bestimmung sind für mich außerdem sowohl sehr weiblich, als auch sehr anziehend, das definiert natürlich jeder für sich selbst anders und so sollte es ja auch sein. Nicht anderen gefallen wollen, sondern dein eigenes Ding durchziehen - auch das ist für mich ein wichtiger Aspekt moderner Weiblichkeit.
Welches ist dein Lieblings Lettau l|. Art Fashion Photo und/oder Outfit? Was liebst du daran? Was hast du als Model empfunden bzw. was wolltest du rueberbringen?
Das hier ist mein Lieblingsbild, weil es so wahnsinnig dynamisch ist und dabei trotzdem irgendwie eine innere Ruhe ausstrahlt. Das Outfit nur anzuziehen, macht schon Lust auf Sonne, Musik und Tanzen und das war in etwa das Grundgefühl, was ich - nicht nur bei diesem Outfit - rüberbringen wollte. Die Bodies vermitteln alle auf ihre Weise beim Tragen ein Gefühl von Selbstbewusstsein und Lebensfreude, das überträgt sich dann auch auf die Art, wie man sich selbst und die Outfits präsentiert.
Kannst du etwas zum Shooting und dem/der Photographen/in sagen?
Die Fotografin Paula Nietner habe ich durch Make Up Artist Elisa Sankowski getroffen. Wir haben uns zuerst als Freunde kennengelernt, zusammengearbeitet habe ich mit den beiden aber bei diesem Shooting zum ersten Mal. Wenn man sich mit anderen auf freundschaftlicher Ebene so gut versteht, bringt das ein ganz besonderes Feeling in die Zusammenarbeit. Man versteht sich eben einfach, und das spiegelt sich auch in dem Ergebnis wieder, wenn am Ende alle
Beteiligten einfach begeistert sind von dem, was man gemeinsam produziert hat. Die beiden sind außerdem unheimlich talentiert und bei Paula merkt man, dass sie eine ganz bestimmte Vision hat und ein Gespür dafür, wie sie diese auch perfekt umsetzen kann.
Was wäre für dich der beste Anlass einen Lettau Body zu tragen und wie würdest du ihn stylen?
Ein Lettau Body ist für mich das perfekte Festival Outfit, aber auch im Club würde er sich super tragen. Für mich gibt es dazu idealerweise auffällige Plateauschuhe, Netzstrümpfe und dazu noch eine ausgefallene Sonnenbrille. Schmuck wenn schon eher minimal, der Body sollte als Statement Piece im Vordergrund stehen. Bei mir kommt noch eine Oversize Lederjacke hinzu
und das Outfit ist perfekt!
Und zurück zu dir: Das Wochenende naht. Wie sieht bei dir ein typischer Freitag Abend aus?
Je nach Laune, mal bleibe ich nach einer anstrengenden Woche einfach mit meiner Freundin zuhause und wir kochen zusammen, schauen Netflix, so das Übliche. An anderen Tagen zieht es mich in die Berliner Queer und Techno Clubszene, da habe ich auch keinen speziellen Favoriten, gerne darf es immer wieder eine neue Location sein. Wir veranstalten auch super gerne Sit-Ins
und laden ein paar Freunde zu uns ein, mit denen wir gemeinsam trinken, essen, quatschen und feiern.
Could you briefly introduce yourself: Where are you from? How old are you? What do you do when you’re not modelling?
I’m 21 and originally from Flensburg, from the high North so to speak. I moved to Berlin two and a half years ago for my training in hotel management, which I have now almost completed. I currently work full-time in event management in a hotel. Let’s see where I’ll end up next. In my free time I’m quite creative and like to draw a lot.
How did you end up modelling? What do you like about it?
I was always interested in modeling, though not as a typical childhood dream. I also only started modelling about a year ago and have always seen it as a nice mixture of a hobby and a side job, since I also have a full-time job. But for me the most fascinating thing about it is the collaboration between the various creative ideas of, for example, the photographer, model, make up artist and stylist, whose visions merge and create something new. Self-actualization is also a very important part of it.
You’re into girls, right? What do you find attractive about women? What does femininity mean to you?
Yes, I usually define myself as bi or preferably queer; I think sexuality is fluid, but currently I definitely prefer women. A better question would be: what isn’t attractive about women (laughs). I’m not only into women, I’m also a feminist and the female gender just inspires me in general. What I have definitely learnt over time and amongst the right people, is that femininity exists in endless different forms, and doesn’t have anything to do with classical gender norms. Especially in the LGBTQ+ Community you meet so many women/people who have freed themselves from social expectations and just live out their own beauty. Self-confidence and autonomy are both very feminine and very attractive to me. But of course everyone defines this differently for themselves and that’s how it should be. Not trying to please everyone, but doing your own thing - this is also an important aspect of modern femininity to me.
What’s your favourite Lettau l|. Art Fashion photo and/or outfit? What do you love about it? What have you perceived as a model or what did you want to get across?
This is my favourite photo, because it’s so incredibly dynamic and still somehow shows an inner calm. Just putting on that outfit made me crave sun, music and dancing and that was pretty much the main feeling I wanted to get across, with all of the outfits. The bodysuits convey a sense of self-confidence and vitality, which is then transmitted onto the way one presents oneself and the outfits.
Could you say something about the shoot and the photographer?
I met the photographer Paula Nietner through make up artist Elisa Sankowski. We met as friends and worked together for the first time on this shoot. When you get on so well as friends, it creates a special feeling during the collaboration. You just get on, and that’s reflected in the results, when all involved are just impressed by what has been collectively created. They are both also extremely talented and with Paula you can see that she has a very specific vision and a sense of how to get it across.
What would be the best occasion for you to wear a Lettau Body and how would you style it?
A Lettau Body to me is the perfect festival outfit, but it would also be great in a club. Ideally it would come with a striking pair of platform shoes, fishnet tights and an unusual pair of sunglasses. Jewelry should be minimal, since the bodysuit should be the statement piece in the centre of attention. I would also add an oversized leather jacket and the outfit is perfect!
And back to you: The weekend is coming up. What is your typical Friday evening?
That depends on my mood. Sometimes, after an exhausting week, I stay at home with my girlfriend and we cook, watch netflix, the usual. On other days I go out into the Berlin queer and techno club-scene, I don’t have a particular favourite, I like going to new places. We also really enjoy inviting a few friends over, with whom we chat, eat, drink and party.
