Kurz zu dir: Woher kommst du? Wie alt bist du? Was machst du, wenn du nicht als Model/Influenzer unterwegs bist?
Hey, ich bin Kleo, jedenfalls auf Insatgram, ansonsten auch Schlesi genannt. Ich bin in Münster geboren, habe dort allerdings nie gelebt. Damals lebten wir in Namibia und meine Mutter kam nur für die Geburt nach Deutschland. Als ich ca. 5 Jahre alt war zogen wir nach Berlin. Ich auch in vielen anderen Städten und Ländern gelebt, aber jetzt seit knapp 6 Jahren bin ich wieder im geliebten Berlin.
Ich arbeite als persönliche Assistenz fuer einen etwas verrückten, sehr interessanten Chef der Kunst sammelt und mich immerzu mit neuen Ideen auf Trab hält. Nebenbei bin ich gewissermaßen als Influencerin unterwegs, obwohl ich es eher "Persönlichen Ausdruck" nenne. Mir treu zu bleiben ist mir wichtiger als Geld zu machen, ich schätze das macht einen zum Künstler, denn die haben ja bekanntermaßen vom letzteren nicht immer so viel. (lacht.) Aber ich kann mich nicht beklagen. Mein Job hält mich über Wasser und mein Chef unterstützt meine Projekte, ist großzügig und flexibel.
Generell gehören Tanz, Kostüm, alles mit Musik, Mode und Kunst zu meinen Leidenschaften! Dort findet man mich kreuz und quer.
Wie bist du zum Modeln gekommen? Was gefällt dir an der Tätigkeit?
Es kam durch meine Liebe zum Fotografieren und zur Mode. Ich habe schon lange vor Instagram gerne meine Outfits festgehalten und hier und da ein Shooting gehabt weil ich angesprochen wurde. Als ich selbst immer mehr zum Fotografieren kam, wurde es einfach ein Selbstläufer. Nach wie vor sind die meisten Bilder von mir auch meine eigenen. Diese gefallen wiederum Fotografen oder Designern, mit denen ich dann auch zusammenarbeite, einfach weil es mir Spaß macht. Gemeinsam Kreativ sein. Ich mag es mich neu zu erfinden und ich liebe einfach Mode.
Du bist nicht nur Model, sondern auch Photografin, und kreative Leitung bei deinen eigenen Shootings. Wie funktioniert so eine Zusammenarbeit? Wie kann man sich einen Tag an Kleos Set vorstellen?
Haha, das stimmt. Ich hab oft genaue Vorstellungen wie etwas sein soll, dadurch mache ich viel selbst. Ich habe zwei Gesichter könnte man sagen: Einmal gibt es Kleo, die sich gern vorbereitet, plant und auf Zuverlässigkeit, Pünktlichkeit und zielorientiertes Arbeiten Wert legt. Die andere Kleo ist vergesslich, selbst nicht immer pünktlich und ein bisschen all over the place. Man kann also sagen ein Tag am Set mit mir ist… geordnetes Chaos! Ich finde, dass die Stimmung und gegenseitige Wertschätzung am wichtigsten sind. Lockerheit, bisschen Musik und Spaß am Set. Manchmal muss man sich von der Situation und den Gegebenheiten leiten lassen. Zu viel Planung ist auch nicht gut.
Mit deiner Girl Crew ArtEmiss Collective warst du diesen Sommer auf vielen Festivals unterwegs. Da ist jede Menge geballte Girl Power am Start. Wer sind ArtEmiss und wie geht es weiter mit euch?
Ja das war definitiv geballte Power den Sommer über. Artemiss ist die Griechische Göttin des Waldes, der Frauen und Kinder. Da unser Projekt sich darauf belief durch Kunst und Tanz zu heilen, kommt es zu der Abspaltung "Art" und "E", für Energie. Das ist all das was uns umgibt und was wir freisetzen wenn wir Workshops geben oder Tanzen. Zu Selbstliebe, Ausdruck und Weiblichkeit zu inspirieren ist unser Wunsch.
Dieses Jahr wollen wir es entspannt angehen, da wir leider auch feststellen mussten, dass es in Deutschland noch nicht üblich ist kreative Kollektive zu engagieren. Das hat uns drei sehr herausgefordert und viel Energie gekostet. Wir schauen was kommt und lassen uns vom Universum führen. Es ist in Ordnug, dass das ganze etwas langsamer, aber organisher wächst. Und jeder hat auch noch genug Kraft für andere Dinge im Leben. Wir überlegen auch uns zu vergrößern, und weitere motivierte Mädels aufzunehmen um flexibler agieren zu koennen. Wie man sieht, viele Möglichkeiten und mal sehen wo es uns hinführt...
Welches ist dein Lieblings Lettau l|. Art Fashion Photo und/oder Outfit? Was liebst du daran? Was hast du als Model empfunden bzw. was wolltest du rueberbringen?
Alsooo, puhh. Ich mag echt jedes Teil, das ich habe, und das sind jetzt schon ein paar! Am meisten mag ich den MIAMI BODY mit Tiger Print, den ich für ArtEmiss getragen habe. Die Schnitte waren einfach grandios und individuell customized für Jede von uns. Der Schnitt zeigt viel Haut, schmeichelt aber auch super der weiblichen Figur! Ich habe mich körperbetont, weiblich, sexy, aber auch stark und kraftvoll gefühlt. Badass!
Der zweite Platz ist der BARBARELLA BODY in gold mit softem Animal Print. Den habe ich einmal pastellig, mit Perlen und viel Glitzer gestylt und das andere Mal elegant, griechisch, mit einem langen, leicht fallenden Rock. Auch hier habe ich mich sehr feminin gefühlt. Der Ausdruck: Freizügigkeit auf eine schöne Art rüberzubringen und in Nacktheit nichts Plakatives und Sexuelles zu sehen, sondern Anmut und Schönheit der weiblichen Kraft und Form.
Was wäre für dich der beste Anlass einen Lettau Body zu tragen und wie würdest du ihn stylen?
Ha! Ich glaube, da gibt es einen zu jedem Anlass! Ob Alltag oder Party, ob Urlaub oder Auftritt. Ich finde die meisten Lettau Bodies kann man mit einer Jeans „down stylen“ und mit Schmuck, Klim Bim und ausgefallenen Hosen und Röcken „up stylen“. Wenn man richtig Bock hat trägt man sie ohne alles: im Sommer, auf nem Festival oder im Urlaub am Strand. Man braucht keine Extras, aber wenn man Extra sein will, dann packt man Extra drauf.
An interview with Insta-babe Kleo Schlesi aka Kleos_Bubble
Could you briefly introduce yourself: where are you from? how old are you? what do you do, when you aren’t working as a model/influencer?
Hi, I’m Kleo, at least on Instagram, otherwise also known as Schlesi. I was born in Münster, but never lived there. We used to live in Namibia and my mother only came to Germany to give birth. When I was about 5 we moved to Berlin. I’ve also lived in many other cities and countries, but for about 6 years I’ve been living in my beloved Berlin again. I work as a personal assistant for a rather crazy, very interesting boss who collects art and keeps me on my toes with endless new ideas. Apart from that I’m an Influencer, although I prefer to call it “personal expression”. Staying true to myself is more important to me than money, I guess that’s what makes you an artist, since they famously don’t have so much of the latter. (laughs). But I can’t complain. My job keeps me afloat, and my boss supports my projects, he’s generous and flexible. In general, dance, costumes, everything to do with music, fashion and art are my passions! You can find me across all of these fields.
How did you start modeling? What do you like about it?
It arose from my love of taking photos and my love of fashion. I enjoyed taking photos of my outfits long before Instagram, and I used to do shoots here and there whenever people approached me. Once I started taking more and more pictures myself, it pretty much took off. Most of the photos of me are still my own. Photographers or designers then like these, and we collaborate, because I enjoy it. Being creative together. I like to reinvent myself and I just love fashion.
You aren’t just the model, but also the photographer and creative director on your shoots. How does this type of collaboration work? What does a day on Kleos Set look like?
Haha, that’s true. I often have an exact idea of how something should be, which is why I do a lot myself.
One could say I have two faces: The Kleo who likes to prepare, plan and values reliability, punctuality and goal oriented work. The other Kleo is forgetful, not always punctual herself and a bit all over the place. So you could say a day on a set with me is...organised chaos! I think that the general mood and mutual appreciation are the most important things. As well as a laid-back set with music and fun. Sometimes you have to let yourself be led by the situation and by what’s there. Too much planning isn’t good either.
You toured a lot of festivals with your Girl Crew ArtEmiss Collective this summer. That’s a lot of Girl Power. Who is ArtEmiss and what will you do next?
Yeah that was definitely a lot of power over the summer. Artemiss is the Greek Godess of the forest, women and children. Since our project is based on healing through art and dance, we created the spin-off “Art” and “E” for energy. That’s everything around us and what we release when we give workshops or dance. We want to inspire self-love, expression and femininity.
This year is more relaxed as we unfortunately had to realise that it isn’t so common yet in Germany to hire creative collectives. That was a challenge for us three and cost us a lot of energy. We’ll see what happens and are letting ourselves be guided by the universe. It’s ok that it’s all growing a little more slowly, but organically. And this way we still have enough energy for other things in life. We are also thinking of expanding, and including other motivated girls to be more flexible. As you can see, many possibilities and we’ll see where it takes us...
What’s your favourite Lettau l|. Art Fashion photo and/or outfit? What do you like about it? What did you feel as a model or what did you want to get across?
Wellll, hmmm. I really like each piece that I own, and I own quite a lot! I like the MIAMI BODY with tiger print that I wore for ArtEmiss best. The cuts were just fantastic and custom-made for each of us. The design shows a lot of skin, whilst really flattering the female form! My figure was accentuated, and I felt feminine, sexy as well as strong and powerful. Badass! My second favourite is the BARBARELLA BODY in gold with soft animal print. I styled it once in pastel colours with pearls and lots of glitter and another time in a more elegant, greek style, with a long, flowing skirt. I felt very feminine in this look too. As a model my idea was to show nudity in a beautiful way, not as something bold and sexual, but to show the grace and beauty of female power and feminine form.
What would be the best occasion for a Lettau Body and how would you style it?
Ha! I think there is a bodysuit for every occasion! For a weekday or a party, holiday or performance. I think most of the Lettau Bodies can be “styled down” with a pair of jeans and “styled up” with some jewellery, accessories and extravagant trousers and skirts. And when you’re really feeling it you wear them without anything at all: in the summer at a festival or on holiday at the beach. You don’t need any extras, but if you want to be extra, then you add a bunch of extra on top.
